Center Hall 2
The existing residence, constructed in the mid-thirties in Northwest Washington, DC, featured a number of traditional French colonial flourishes, dominated by an ornate wrought iron balustrade on the front porch. In need of a complete overhaul both inside and out, the program called for an exterior facelift and a large addition in the rear, including a pool and terraced yard. Like the exterior, the interior contained layers of colonial details that would be removed and replaced with more contemporary refinements.
