Center Hall 1
The primary goal of this addition/renovation project was to reconcile a traditional American house type – the center hall colonial – with a contemporary program and lifestyle. The program is ubiquitous: spacious Kitchen/Family Room on first floor, bedroom and bath on the second floor, added to the rear of a 1933 brick colonial in Northwest Washington, DC. The solution extends the symmetrical plan of the center hall, linking the front and rear doors on a north-south axis.
