Adams Morgan Condominium
This 6-unit apartment building near the National Zoo in Washington DC was wedged into a hilly site - formerly a stone quarry - between two existing buildings. The design places three duplex rowhouses in alternating colors of tinted concrete block atop a parking level plinth. The middle row house is recessed to create a common open courtyard. Completion: 1989; winner of DC Chapter AIA ‘Award for Excellence’, 1990.
